Privacy Policy

OfferBoard is a hyperlocal offer discovery platform. Businesses list themselves and post offers; customers discover, save and claim them nearby. This policy explains what we collect across the customer app, the business app and our own operations, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

Account information. Name, email or phone number, and a password (we store only a salted hash of it, never the password itself).

Location information. A saved location you add yourself, and - only when you grant permission - your device's live position, used to rank and show offers near you. Declining is always an option; discovery falls back to a city you choose.

Business information. For merchants: business and branch details, opening hours, offer content and images, team members, and billing and payment records.

Usage information. What you view, search, save, follow and claim, so we can rank offers, measure what a campaign delivered, and keep the product working correctly. Repeated views from the same visitor in a short window are counted once, not once per view.

Device and log information. IP address, browser or app version, and similar technical data used for security and troubleshooting.

• To let you save locations, interests, follows and claims.
• To let businesses list themselves, post offers and see how those offers perform.
• To process payments for listings and offer plans through our payment provider.
• To send account, verification and transactional messages (such as a one-time code).
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and violations of our Terms & Conditions.
• To improve the product, using aggregated and anonymised statistics.

We do not sell your personal information. A business sees the details it needs to honour a claim you make on its offer (such as a claim code); it does not see your saved locations, your interests or your browsing history. We share information with service providers who help us run OfferBoard - payment processing, hosting and infrastructure - under obligations to protect it, and we may disclose information where required by law.

We keep account and business records for as long as the account is active and as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations (such as invoices). Raw usage events are kept for a limited retention window and then removed; the aggregate statistics computed from them are kept longer so businesses and administrators can see historical trends.

• Update your profile, saved locations and interests at any time from your account.
• Turn off live location access from your device at any time; discovery still works from a saved location or a chosen city.
• Ask us to close your account and delete personal data we are not otherwise required to keep.

Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. Access to business and admin data is checked on every request against the account's actual role, not just what a screen happens to show. No system is perfectly secure, and we work to keep these protections current.

OfferBoard is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
